Baieido was founded in 1657 by Jinkoya Sakubei, who specialized in selling incense ingredients and incense sticks in Sakai, Osaka, which was the center of incense trading. KOKOUDO was set up under the direct management of Baieido, and we preserve the time-honored traditions that have been passed from generation to generation. We provide our customers with incense sticks such as the signature brand KoBunBoku, but we also offer modern aromas such as coffee-scented incense and pretty “perfume sachets”, using natural incense ingredients to create elegant and calming aromas. By bringing incense into your daily life, you will feel relaxed and soothed.

Our boutique offers not only incense sticks and other incense products, but also traditional Japanese paper (washi), writing paper, envelopes, postcards and other stylish Japanese crafts.
